Jolene Adams steadies a rose while Jim Donoso carefully removes one of the large, cracked canes.

Roses shi[pped in bags and boxes are subject to rough handling and the gardener needs to clip off broken parts before planting.

Directions for choosing the right rose for your climate and soil conditions are given, planting a rose is demonstrated. Feeding and watering are discussed as well as how to treat for and actually prevent rose diseases and predation from insects.

Less-toxic products are discussed.

Audiences at these seminars are full of questions. Of particular interest is landscaping with roses - how to train them, prune them and use them as climbers and hedges.
